Observations on Some Blessed Omani Efforts in the Service of the Book of God

Abstract
Service of the Holy Qurʾan — in teaching it, in enabling its memorisation, in instruction and in dissemination — is among the noblest and most exalted of works and of means of nearness to God, and for this reason many individuals, bodies and states are eager to attain that honour. The Sultanate of Oman has persistently offered notable contributions and blessed efforts in the service of the Holy Qurʾan and in providing a suitable educational environment for learning, understanding and spreading it. This paper pauses over some of those efforts through the following elements: the Omani Association for the Care of the Holy Qurʾan; and the project for teaching the Holy Qurʾan at a distance through electronic means and technologies, so as to make it possible for larger sections of society to learn and memorise the Qurʾan.
