Abstract
This research treats an important subject the author considers worthy of study: the efforts of Oman's scholars in the field of Qurʾanic exegesis. Omanis gave the utmost attention to preserving and interpreting the Book of God, and the scholars of Oman maintained contact with other scholars of the Islamic community in studying the Holy Qurʾan and in attending to it in recitation, teaching and application, so that they had an effective role in the service of this noble Book. The study traces the historical movement of Omani exegetes across four centuries, from the eleventh to the fourteenth Hijri century, identifying the scholars, their works and the lines of transmission and influence that connect them.
