Abstract

Omanis made important contributions to the field of Islamic civilization, embodied in several manifestations, the most important of which is the cultural and intellectual movement in the religious, linguistic and literary sciences. This research treats the efforts and contributions of Oman's scholars in the science of Qurʾanic exegesis. It is known that exegesis is among the most exalted of the religious sciences in worth, the greatest in benefit and the finest in standing, for the inquiry and reflection it requires. The study covers the period from the third to the sixth Hijri century, the ninth to the twelfth century CE, identifying the Omani exegetes of that era, their works and the methods they followed.
