Abstract
This study aims to establish the life of the Omani Qurʾan reciter Abū Muḥammad al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī ibn Saʿīd, who lived in the fifth Hijri century, in respect of his upbringing and his scholarly life, with particular attention to his considerable concern for spreading the sciences of the Holy Qurʾan and especially the sciences of tajwīd and of the Qurʾanic readings. The researchers divide the paper into two parts: the first treats his upbringing and life, concentrating on his Omani origin, since his name has been bound to Oman; and the second treats his thought and the substance of his scholarly work, setting out what his writings reveal of his method and of his standing among the reciters of his age.
