Abstract
The research aims to bring to light an Omani figure, Abū Muḥammad al-Ḥasan ibn ʿAlī ibn Saʿīd al-ʿUmānī, who gave his attention to the science of Qurʾanic readings at a time when Omanis wrote little in this branch of the Qurʾanic sciences. Beyond this, the research shows a wider horizon to this figure in various aspects, such as his firm grounding in the science of pause and resumption and in the Arabic language in all its branches. To achieve this the research offers a general introduction and establishes how close this scholar stood to the period in which the Qurʾanic readings were being recorded, then treats his personality, his works and the place he occupies within the discipline.
