Abstract
This study treats a Qurʾanic model and an aspect of Omani attention to the service of the Holy Qurʾan in its contemporary reality, namely contemplation (tadabbur). The researcher opens with the importance of contemplating the Qurʾan in the formation of the Muslim, then treats the new Omani experience and the future vision it opens through contemplation courses, in four parts. The first is concerned with the subjects raised in these courses, around which discussion turns — beginning with the recollection of blessings and what pertains to them of reflection and observation leading to belief in God and to remembrance, then adversity, Satan, this world and the next, and closing with repentance and the clearing of accounts. The second part treats the method followed in the courses.
