=520  3\$aThe traditional Omani majlis, known as al-sablah, is among the most prominent cultural and social components that have for many decades formed a space for human interaction and a source for rooting ethical values and positive social conduct in Omani society. This social institution today faces multiple challenges amid accelerating social transformation, changing patterns of communication among individuals, and the growth of external influences through media and modern technology. The problem turns on a central question: to what extent does the cultural and social role of the Omani majlis continue in rooting the values of respect and tolerance in contemporary Omani society? Subsidiary questions follow: how does the sablah reproduce values in the context of technological and communicative transformation? What challenges weaken its influence, particularly the retreat of young people's physical attendance and the growth of individualism? And what possible paths of adaptation exist for preserving the essence of the institution? The study uses a descriptive-analytical method resting on a review of refereed literature, books and studies.
