Omani Poetry and Its Role in Enriching the Arabic Language
al-Shiʻr al-ʻUmānī wa-Dawruhu fī Ighnāʼ al-Lughah al-ʻArabīyah

Abstract
Omani poetry, ancient and modern, has touched every field of Arabic verse, keeping pace with the movement of Arabic literature through history; and in doing so it drew clear landmarks by which it enriched the Arabic language in both quantity and quality — landmarks that deserve to be traced by researchers for their evident effect on that enrichment. This paper attempts to establish the most prominent of those landmarks, in order to show the contribution of Omani literature to preserving the flow and the soundness of the Arabic language, the language God honoured with the revelation of the Qurʾan.
