Abstract

Strong commercial ties between two societies — as between the two societies of this study, the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Thailand — enable them to meet the economic challenges and financial crises that strike the world from time to time. The study aims to achieve one principal objective: to reveal the aspects of commercial relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Thailand. Under this fall the subsidiary objectives of identifying the historical background of the relationship between the two countries; surveying the recent international steps taken by the Sultanate of Oman to consolidate its historical relations with the Kingdom of Thailand; and bringing out the most important aspects of economic cooperation between them. Following the introduction, the study discusses these matters in successive chapters treating the historical background, the recent steps taken, and the principal areas of economic cooperation.
