Abstract
Proceeding from the divine command to cooperate in righteousness and piety, the scholars of the Sultanate of Oman — like the scholars of the wider community — are careful to fulfil this command, contributing thereby to the unity of the community, its welfare and its renaissance, through scholarly communication with their brother scholars and men of thought in the various countries of the world, and through participation in conferences, symposia, universities and academic bodies. This paper examines the ties of Oman's scholars with Malaysia and the effect of those ties on scholarly exchange between the two countries, taking the General Secretariat of Iftāʾ in the Sultanate of Oman as its case study and tracing its institutional relationships, visits, joint work and published exchanges with Malaysian scholarly bodies.
