Abstract

This study sheds light on the problems of overseas scholarship study from the point of view of Omani students in Malaysia. The basic research problem lies in the fact that scholarship students face many academic, cultural, social, financial and security difficulties, and that these difficulties form an obstacle, in varying degrees, preventing full benefit from the scholarship programme. On this basis the importance of the study is embodied in diagnosing the problems referred to in terms of their kinds and the levels and fields of their effect. The study uses the descriptive and analytical methods; the researcher designed a questionnaire distributed to a sample of Omani students, and the findings are analysed to establish which difficulties weigh most heavily and where institutional support would make the greatest difference.
