Omanis and the Truth of the British Accusations against Them of Slave Trading

Abstract
The subject was chosen to clarify the position of Omanis with respect to the accusations directed at them in the nineteenth century by Britain, the representative of colonialism and imperialism, which was named great by virtue of those it enslaved among Africans and Indians and which played a considerable role in tearing apart the unity of nations. The study argues that Britain took upon itself to attach these accusations — and the slave trade in particular — to Omanis in order to achieve its colonial ends, after Europe and the Americas had been filled with the sons of Africa, while those in question were citizens subject to the Omani state whom the Omanis defended and among whom they were callers to Islam and a light of guidance in the African continent. As for the cases in which sons of Africa were brought to Oman, the study holds that these were for the cultivation of land and for labour.
