الكتاب العُماني في شرق إفريقيا والمغرب العربي: مقدمة في التاريخ الحضاري

Omani culture in its relation to East Africa and the Arab Maghreb rests on an accumulated store of a remarkable civilizational inheritance, testifying to historical influences deeply rooted in both regions and indicating a pioneering Omani civilizational refinement. Proceeding from these historical influences, this paper treats the Omani book in the period of the Omani civilizational presence in East Africa and the Arab Maghreb, organised in three parts: first, the civilizational value of studying the history of Omani culture; second, the historical contact between Oman and Africa; and third, the written sources of Omani culture in the regions of East Africa and the Arab Maghreb. The paper argues that the movement of Omani books is itself a record of that civilizational contact and a means of reading it.
