دراسة تحليلية لتأثير زراعة الرمان في الجبل الأخضر وأبعاده التاريخية والزراعية والاقتصادية والسياحية والتنموية

The pomegranate of Al Jabal Al Akhdar is among the most important agricultural crops in the Sultanate of Oman, and particularly in the wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate, which is distinguished by unique climatic and agricultural characteristics. The fruit is bound to the heritage of the region and forms part of the agricultural, economic and cultural identity of the local population; it has also become a focus of development and tourism. The study aims to introduce this crop and its history in the wilayat, to establish how it reached the Sultanate of Oman, and to analyse its historical, agricultural, economic, touristic and developmental dimensions. It adopts a qualitative method, studying relevant official and historical documents and conducting field interviews with specialists in pomegranate cultivation. The study is expected to offer a comprehensive analytical view of the role and impact of one of the most important agricultural crops of Al Jabal Al Akhdar across the ages, together with its agricultural, economic, political and developmental outcomes, in support of the future directions of Oman Vision 2040.
