Abstract
Omani culture possesses an interactive linguistic store resting on foundations carried by the principal sources that form national character and identity, for the building of the self, its elevation and its development in the face of the successive epistemic and ideological changes of the ages. Among the most prominent sources to which the people of Oman gave their attention are the texts of the Holy Qurʾan, given the authority they hold, the Qurʾan being the foremost of proofs; and they exerted efforts in this field that deserve to be recorded and acknowledged. This research accordingly sets out the contributions of Omani language scholars to the service of the Qurʾanic text, tracing their treatment of its vocabulary, its structures and its readings.
