Abstract
This research aims to establish the reality of teachers' teaching of the Holy Qurʾan using modern technologies in the Sultanate of Oman. To achieve this aim the researcher examined a body of previous studies concerned with the reality of teachers' employment of modern technologies in teaching the Holy Qurʾan and its sciences, since recent times have seen a readiness among teachers to employ such technologies. The study sets out the present state of that practice in Omani schools, the tools most often used, the aspects of Qurʾanic instruction to which they are applied, and the effects — pedagogical and otherwise — that follow from their use, together with the conditions under which they support rather than displace the established methods of Qurʾanic teaching.
