Abstract
Omani works addressed to the young have long teemed with terms and perspectives that reach out to raise young people in upright character, and the works of the jurists were not apart from this abundant sea but at the head of the procession — as their explicit statements and their manner alike confirm, whether in their terminological composition or in the educational features and elevated ethical values that this linguistic structure carries. These pages set all of this in a single frame. The first chapter concentrates on the linguistic structure and the method followed in the jurists' works addressed to the young, while the second sets out the educational features to which the jurists' language in those works testifies. Both are preceded by an introduction on juristic terminology and its effect, together with a concise account of the works selected for study. Among the most important findings is the demonstration of the jurists' care to root elevated character at the very moment a student turns to the study of the law.
