الشخصية العمانية ودورها في التواصل الحضاري عبر العصور
Abstract
Writers, travellers, thinkers and historians of every age, Arab and non-Arab alike, have noticed and marvelled at the extraordinary capacity of the Omani for contact, interaction and influence, despite the particularity that distinguishes him. Also striking is the continuity of that interactive and influential spirit at all times, even in the periods that knew instability because of internal and regional conflicts and armed disputes, or whose source was external invasion. The modern Omani state has likewise preserved this approach in its foreign policy, whether in its relations with Arab and Islamic states or with the rest of the world's countries; and its positions on Arab, Islamic and international political questions are perhaps the best example. This paper examines the Omani character as a factor in that sustained civilizational communication.
