رسالة النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم إلى ملكي عُمان: دراسة تاريخية تحليلية في ضوء الوثائق
Abstract
This study treats the Prophet's letter to the two kings of Oman as a historical document reflecting an important dimension of political relations in early Islam, within a critical framework based on the analysis of historical documents. The problem arises from the small number of studies that have treated this letter as an independent historical text subject to critical editing and documentary analysis, apart from a narrative or homiletic treatment — which raises questions about the accuracy of its text in the sources, the nature of its address and its political context. The study seeks to answer several questions, chief among them: how firmly is the text of the Prophet's letter to the two kings of Oman established in the historical sources? What linguistic and stylistic characteristics mark this text? How may its content be understood in the light of the nature of political relations in early Islam? What historical context surrounded its sending, and what consequences followed from it in Oman? The study aims to establish the text by tracing and comparing its recensions and analysing their chains of transmission, and to analyse its content in terms of linguistic structure and political address.
